People don’t use bullying only to gain power over others in school or the workplace. Bullying is also used as a tool for political gain.

In this post, you will learn all about bullying and politics so you can easily see how they relate.

Once you learn all about this game-changing information, you will be better able to protect yourself from it and live a freer, happier life.

This post is all about bullying and politics, so that you can defend yourself against them and ensure your safety.

Bullying and Politics

Politics is a dirty word to a lot of people. Why? Because politics is dirty in and of itself. Therefore, even if many of us may hate politics, we must acknowledge that it exists and that it’s everywhere!

I completely understand why the word itself leaves such a bad taste in your mouth. It does mine as well. Why? Because I’ve been a victim of it many times in my lifetime.

And let’s be real. We’ve all been victims of it at some time or another. However, we must realize that bullying and politics go hand in hand- always!

They both go hand in hand.

Bullying and politics go hand in hand. There’s office politics in the workplace. Moreover, there are school and student politics. Politics isn’t only at the local, state, national, and world levels.

Again, it is everywhere. And the longer we deny it, the longer it will continue to steamroll us.  We cannot avoid it or pretend it doesn’t exist.

You’ve heard the term, dirty politics.

Dirty politics is used to manipulate and restructure social hierarchies.  Moreover, restructuring social hierarchies makes it easier to disempower targeted people and groups.

Dirty politics is about gaining power, nothing more.

But isn’t bullying about the same things? It also manipulates social orders and disempowers targets. Bullying and politics are both about revamping social orders and centralizing power only to a few in the highest echelons of power.

And it happens in schools, workplaces, communities, and government. Both bullying and politics are ugly and nasty.

 Bullying is dirty politics!

I’ll leave you to think on this. If you have any questions or concerns, feel free to share them in the comments below. And I’ll answer them as quickly and accurately as I can.

Bullying and Politics:

Bullies, Abusers, and Oppressive Governments

Bullies brainwash victims into thinking that they must depend on them for something. It’s true. I know this leaves you scratching your head. You may ask,

“Depend on bullies? For what?”

For approval, acceptance, and to have the ability to make friends.

Bullies

Yes. Bullies want you to believe you must depend on them to have those things. And it’s how they keep you begging for it. They dangle carrots of approval to keep you under their oppressive thumb.

And once they get you to do what they want, they yank it away. And why not? You’ve served your purpose. And now you’re of no use to them anymore. Right?

Domestic Abusers

Think about it. Domestic abusers do the same to their abused partners. They keep them dependent to maintain control.

And they do it by keeping them dependent on financial resources.

By controlling the purse strings, they can dominate freely. Abusive partners also shut down opportunities for you to make your own money.

Another control tactic of the spousal abuser is cutting the partner off from family and friends. If they can keep you away from your loved ones, it keeps the risk down.

Your family and friends will likely see them for what they are. Therefore, they may advise you to leave the relationship. Even scarier, you might take their advice.

And when that happens, the bully loses power. Why? Because without victims, bullies have no power. With domestic abuse, it’s less about keeping the abused partner from leaving and more about power.

Abuse is abuse, whether it comes in the form of bullying in school or domestic abuse in the home.

Bullying and Politics:

Oppressive Governments

Socialist and Communist governments also do the same to their people. They manipulate events and media narratives.

They even deliberately crash their countries’ economies. Why? To force the citizenry to become dependent on them.

They even set up terrorist regimes to beat any dissenters into submission and burn their homes and businesses. This is nothing new. Bullies in power have used these tactics throughout history!

And it’s how governments wrest control over your behavior. Even your thoughts! If they can keep you dependent, they can make the rules. They can tell you what to do. In fact, they can have complete domination over your life.

Dependency is death!

When you’re dependent on someone,  you need them. And they can force you to put up with the most unspeakable abuses. Moreover, they can keep you silent by threatening to withdraw whatever it is you need.

You may feel you need friendship and approval. Or, it could be love and acceptance. It may be that you have a tyrannical boss and need your job to make a good living.

Maybe you’re an older person who needs food and medicine to stay alive.

And trust me, bullies would love to have complete control over every aspect of a person’s life. And if they can keep you dependent on them for your very safety and survival, don’t think they won’t!

Bullying and Politics:

With Bullies and Tyrants, it’s about having power over someone.

When control freaks use these methods of control, they strip you of your freedom and autonomy. They also keep you too afraid to be you.

And you don’t dare exercise your human rights. Why? Because you’re too terrified to stand up to them. Therefore, you can’t speak freely because you risk offending the wrong people.

When bullies in power trample your civil rights, they don’t allow you to be creative. In that, they screw with your ability to flourish.

bullies take your power because you give it to them.

It may not be intentional. In fact, victims may not realize they’re doing it. However, they usually give away their power. It doesn’t matter whether they mean to.

You don’t have to surrender control of your life to a bully. Therefore, call them out on their abuse. Assert your God-given right not to be controlled.

Sure, you’re taking a risk. The controlling person may retaliate. They may unleash even worse pain on you if you don’t obey. However, you damn sure can’t submit your way out of being lorded over either.

Why? Because you can’t appease a bully. Bullies are tyrants. And tyrants are never satisfied. They only get drunk on their power—they always up the ante.

In other words, bullies only take more power until you have none left. And then some.

Bullying and Politics:

Most bullies in power are sadistic.

Also, they tend to be sadistic monsters.

They live to see you suffer. But, here’s the thing. No amount of pain will ever be enough. You see? Bullies have an insatiable bloodlust. The more you struggle, the more they want you to.

You must realize that bullies, domestic abusers, oppressive governments, and regimes all have one thing in common. They love to control people. And how they do it is to keep them dependent!

Bullies think that you’re HERE for them, not the other way around.

This includes politicians and government figures. In their minds, you’re only here for their convenience. You’re a tool they use for their purposes. You’re a pawn they play to achieve their agenda. And you live for their pleasure, not your own.

Bullies rely on fear. And fear keeps you dependent. The tactics they use to keep you down are both universal and timeless.

You may not know it. And others may have convinced you otherwise. But you have more power than you know. Therefore, it’s up to you whether bullies take it away.

Bullying and Politics:

It’s why many young bullies want socialism.

They believe that they will be rewarded with power if it ever comes to fruition. But wait, there are other reasons they want it.

Bullies are extremely jealous and entitled. They resent anyone more successful. And they want to punish them for it.

Understand that most of them promote Marxism, Socialism, and Communism in America. How they do it is to join groups like BLM, Antifa, BAMN, and The Red Guard. And it’s because most of them were coddled kids whose parents never taught them the value of hard work.

How it all began.

Twenty-plus years ago, kids began getting participation trophies. They didn’t have to try. All they had to do was show up. So, they never learned good sportsmanship.

Their parents raised them using soft parenting strategies. They shielded their precious pride from disappointment. Therefore, they never had to deal with any sense of failure.

But then something happened. These children grew up. They got a rude awakening! They no longer had their overly protective parents to shield them from reality.

And, lo and behold, the real world gave them a good sucker-punch that shattered their fragile egos and sense of entitlement. Ouch!

Suddenly, they began to see that some people were just a little more fortunate than they were! That some people had more “stuff!” Then, it was:

  • “Oh, my God! What a bummer!”
  • “Oh, the unfairness of it all!”
  • “The injustice of it all!”
  • “How dare they have a life better than mine!”

Bullying and Politics:

Bullies are highly entitled and get jealous easily.

Bullies easily become jealous. And it doesn’t matter whether you worked your butt off for what you have.

Maybe you too lived in poverty. But you started your own business and pulled yourself out of it. Or, you worked like a dog, and now, you get to live comfortably. However, they don’t care how you got there.

Therefore, the attitude is, “If I can’t have it, then, by George, I’ll make sure nobody else gets it either!”

Therefore, when you succeed, you force bullies to look at their own lives. And they get angry. They feel as if life didn’t give them a fair shake. So they shouldn’t have to work for anything.

They would rather have security than freedom. Why? Because their parents gave them too much of it while they were growing up.

These groups give bullies a sense of power.

Again, there’s power in the collective. These bullies claim they want to make the world more equal. However, they don’t prioritize equality. If they did, they wouldn’t be bullies.

So, they only pretend to champion the downtrodden. Because that’s what they have to do to achieve power and control, and once they do, they can go after those they despise without suffering any consequences.

Bullying and Politics:

In Conclusion

Bullying and politics are both about power. They’re interconnected. Too many people separate them. But they’re close siblings.

And once we realize this, we will realize that bullying is more than just behavior. It’s a system.

This post is all about bullying and politics so that you can have the knowledge you need to see bullying as a system rather than a behavior.

Selective Outrage Examples: Here’s What it Looks Like

Still don’t understand exactly what selective outrage looks like? Here are several selective outrage examples to make it easier for you to know the context of it, so that you won’t doubt it when you see it.

selective outrage examples

Selective outrage is a form of conditioning. It is used strictly for control. And bullies use it all the time to keep their victims under their thumb.

Therefore, in this post, you will discover several selective outrage examples so that you will know, without a doubt, what it looks like.

Once you realize how it looks in real life, you will be able to call it out when you see it. You will also be able to protect yourself from hypocrisy and double standards.

This post will give you several selective outrage examples so that you can defend yourself if bullies try to single you out for behavior others get away with.

Selective Outrage Examples

As mentioned earlier, selective outrage is a form of psychological and behavioral control. Also, it is hypocrisy. People in power use it to praise one person or group and punish another. So, what are examples of this biased anger? Here they are.

1. You’re a girl who’s in a Genuine Love Relationship.

For example, you’re a girl, and others learn that you’re in a monogamous romantic relationship. You and this young man have been seeing each other for nearly a year.

Moreover, you aren’t only dating; you’re having sex every weekend.

If you’re the target of bullying, they label you a “whore.” Your boyfriend must be with you to get into your pants. And it’s only a matter of time until he gets tired of you and dumps you for someone better.

Therefore, everyone uses your lack of celibacy as an opportunity to persecute you.

On the other hand, what if it’s another girl, particularly one who isn’t a target of bullying? She isn’t necessarily a member of the popular crowd. She just isn’t bullied like you are. She’s just an average Jane who blends in well.

As long as she isn’t you, she’s only a girl in love. She and her boyfriend are only experimenting. They’re exploring the sexual terrain. Others only see it as “being in love.”

Therefore, because she’s not you, everyone cuts her some slack. They don’t say anything about it. Or, they congratulate her for reaching the milestone of finding love and losing her virginity.

In short, because they hate you, they resent that you have someone who loves you. So, they want to punish you for it.

Selective Outrage Examples:

2. You like to party, and you and your buddies were caught Drinking at a kegger.

You’re a boy in school who goes out, drinks, and does drugs on the weekends.

If you’re a target of bullying, people will label you a worthless drunk. Also, they’ll say that you’re a wildcard. And they won’t let you live it down.

However, if you’re anyone else, people only say that you’re a hell-raiser! You’re only doing what most teenage boys do. Therefore, others dismiss it as you being one of those rowdy kids from high school.

3. You’re a girl in high school, AND YOU’VE RECENTLY DISCOVERED that you’re Pregnant.

You’re a girl in high school, and you discover that you’re pregnant.

If you’re a victim of bullying, people call you a cheap little slut. Moreover, they won’t be surprised you’re “knocked up.” And they’ll shun you like Hester Prynne in Nathaniel Hawthorne’s “The Scarlet Letter.”

Everyone judges you harshly. They will make predictions. They’ll swear that you and your baby will live on welfare and leech from society.

Also, they’ll predict that they and everyone else will have to support you with their tax dollars. Why? Because you’re a sorry excuse for a human being.

Another thing they might do is predict that you’ll be an unfit mother. In other words, they’ll attack your parenting skills before you get a chance to use them.

However, if you’re anyone else, they’ll say that you’re just a good girl who made a bad mistake. Therefore, everyone will reach out to you and extend compassion.

They may throw you a baby shower and celebrate the occasion. Do you see where I’m going with this? These double standards are firmly put in place to keep a select few down and oppressed.

Therefore, if you find yourself in this situation, stand up to them. The best way to do it is to tell them to eff all the way off.

Selective Outrage Examples:

4. You’re involved in a school fight because you decided to start defending yourself against physical bullying.

No one said a word all those years your bullies were pounding your face in. In fact, some even cheered it on. However, all of a sudden, it’s a problem the moment you begin fighting back.

In other words, if your bully kicks your ass, everyone approves. But when you finally kick theirs, everyone is surprised… and outraged!

“How dare you!”

Another thing they may do is ask you what you could’ve done to avoid being bullied.

School staff and workplace managers are so guilty of this. In many cases, they ask you, “What do you think you could’ve done to prevent John from cursing you out?”

If nothing else, understand this right now! When they ask you questions like these, they’re trying to put it off on you. Don’t let them do it!

Call them out on it. Let them know that you see through that statement. Tell them you won’t accept blame for anyone else’s deplorable behavior. And when you say it, mean it.

Selective Outrage Examples:

Thirdly, they may shift everyone’s focus from the bullies’ actions to your reactions.

Anytime you call attention to their disgusting behavior, your bullies try to distract others’ attention to the way you reacted to it. And they do this to make you ashamed of defending yourself.

Moreover, they want you to doubt your own judgment. Bullying thrives on secrecy. Therefore, bullies point out your reaction, hoping that witnesses will blame you. They also hope that you’ll shut your mouth.

5. You speak out when a bully verbally abuses you.

When everyone else speaks out, they’re being assertive. They’re expressing their right not to be abused.

But when you do it, you’re being rude and disrespectful. Or, people may tell you that you’re “too sensitive.”

Whatever their response may be, they’re singling you out for things others get away with. Therefore, you must call them on it, no matter what they may try to shut you down.

Selective Outrage Examples:

6. Sometimes you like to act a little silly to have fun.

Sometimes you just need to let loose and have fun. There’s nothing wrong with that. And it isn’t something to be ashamed of.

When others cut up and act silly, they’re only horsing around and having fun. That sounds fair enough. However, it suddenly bothers people when you do it.

Instead of having fun, they accuse you of being annoying or acting foolish. If nothing else, know this. It isn’t your behavior they take issue with. It’s who you are.

But understand the hidden context here. These people hate you. And the last thing they want is to see you having fun.

So, why not keep pissing them off? Keep having fun, and to hell with what they say about it.

7. You’re friendly to strangers.

Here’s another example. A new kid comes to school. When others are friendly toward them, they’re doing just that – being friendly. However, when you do it, you’re sucking up.

Others make derogatory statements to shame you into shrinking yourself. They try to get you to stop being friendly to the person.

Understand that this is a targeted attack. When it looks like you’re about to make a friend, bullies and everyone else will feel threatened. Why?

Because if you succeed in making a friend, it will challenge the narrative. What narrative? You may ask. The narrative that you’re undesirable – that you’re a bad person.

Therefore, they will do whatever it takes to keep you from proving them wrong.

Selective Outrage Examples:

8. You offer help when you see someone struggling.

When anyone else offers help, it is genuine, and they only want to assist another human being.  But when you do it, others, especially bullies, will accuse you of trying to score brownie points.

Here are a few names they may call you.

  • Ass-kisser
  • Brown nose
  • Suckup
  • Simp

Again, understand why bullies do this. It’s because they hate you with a passion. And, secretly, they can’t stand the thought of you making a friend.

Friends become allies. And you having allies threatens the power your bullies hold over you. Therefore, they’ll do anything to keep you friendless.

The best thing for you to do is tell them to piss off and mind their own damn business.

9. You’re a girl, and you like to wear tight jeans.

You’re a thin girl with a good body. You know it, and you’re confident with it. So, why not show off your curves with tight-fitting jeans?

Therefore, you confidently rock those denims. Your bullies see you. And they attack your confidence by ridiculing you and telling you that you look like a desperate slut.

But see it for what it means. Bullies despise any confidence in their victims. Why? Again, it threatens their power. So, what do they do? They try to knock you down a peg or two.

Don’t let them do it. Continue to rock those jeans. Know that you look good no matter what they say.

Selective Outrage Examples:

10. You love to dress up for school.

You like to dress up for school because it makes you feel good. Therefore, you confidently rock your outfits. Your bullies notice and accuse you of showing off to get attention.

You must understand what’s up with them. They’re probably jealous of your clothes. Or, your confidence threatens their power.

So, don’t let them cause you to dress down. They’ll only find something else to say.

11. You’re on the football team, and you score a touchdown.

You’re being bullied, and you’re on the football team. You’ve been practicing harder, and it pays off. You score a touchdown.

Anyone else would get cheers and compliments. However, they only ridicule you. Others claim that you’re trying to show off. Or, they may say you just got lucky.

This should only make you feel better. Their reactions only prove their frustration. Therefore, keep practicing and getting better.

Selective Outrage Examples:

12. You score 94 – 100 on a big test.

You take a big test and score an A. If you were anyone else, they wouldn’t say anything. Or, maybe they’d praise you for being smart. However, you’re you. So they only accuse you of trying to impress the teacher.

Don’t let this slow you down. Keep making these good grades, and to hell with what they say about it.

13. Ignoring everyone else’s missteps but being quick to point out yours.

Anyone else can make a mistake, and they’re only human. But God forbid you make one. When you’re bullies. Others get leeway. But when you make a mistake, they make a big deal out of it.

Don’t let it get to you. Realize that we all goof every now and again. Instead of regretting the mistake, learn from it.

In Conclusion

You must learn about selective outrage. Because the more you know about it, the less it will bother you when bullies use it to bring you down.

This post gave you all the selective outrage examples so that you will recognize it when you see it. Then, it won’t faze you if bullies use it to try and destroy your confidence.
